Bring forward wheels of the car into rectilinear situation and make measurement of size of a free wheeling (люфта) a steering wheel. If the result of measurement exceeds the maximum admissible value makes (35 mm), check durability of a joint and estimate degree of wear of components of a steering column, the steering mechanism, a steering drive and a forward suspension bracket.  |  |  |

For check of correctness of centering of landing of a steering wheel on a shaft of a steering column bring forward wheels into rectilinear situation.   Corners of installation of forward wheels should be adjusted correctly (see. Corners of installation of forward wheels), the lath of steering transfer should occupy the central situation.   At performance of all listed above conditions of a spoke of a steering wheel should settle down strictly horizontally, and wheel deployment against the stop in any direction to be made for identical quantity of turns.  In case of need remove a steering wheel (see. Removal and installation of a steering wheel) also modify its situation on a shaft.  If to achieve demanded result by reinstallation of a steering wheel it is not possible (the central situation it appears in the middle between shlitsa of a shaft, release lock-nuts of tips of steering drafts and correct position of the last, having displaced each of two on identical quantity of rounds of a carving in the corresponding direction.  |  |

Park the car on an equal horizontal platform with a firm covering.  Check correctness of a rating of tires.  Cock the parking brake, then start the engine on single turns and wait GUR hydraulic liquid warming up to temperature about 60 — 80°С.  |

Measure size of a torque of rotation of a steering wheel at deployment it under 360 ° from neutral situation. If the result of measurement exceeds the maximum admissible value (4.1 kgfs), check effort of sliding of a lath of the steering mechanism for check of a condition of its internal components (see.
